Groutmixer for encapsulation radioactive waste

An advanced mixing and pumping plant, developed in Denmark, has been installed as a central component of a project that ensures the final disposal of radioactive waste in Germany. The plant is the result of close collaboration between Danish engineers and the German organizations Bundesgesellschaft für Endlagerung (BGE) and Schachtbau Nordhausen.

The purpose of the plant is to handle radioactive waste in a safe and efficient manner and ensure its final storage. The mixing and pumping plant was designed to embed the waste with a specially developed binder in geologically secure underground facilities. This process reduces the risk of leakage and ensures that the waste is stored in a way that meets both German and international safety standards.

The plant is an important part of Germany’s long-term strategy for the safe and sustainable management and storage of radioactive waste. Through collaboration with BGE and Schachtbau Nordhausen, Danish technology has helped develop a solution that addresses both technological requirements and environmental considerations.

This plant, developed in Denmark, marks a significant step in international cooperation on nuclear waste management and demonstrates how innovative solutions can play a key role in addressing complex environmental and safety challenges.
